Getting in

• Miami International Airport: Take the free MIA Mover to the Miami Intermodal Center, then Metrorail’s Orange Line to Government Center for Downtown/Metromover connections; allow roughly 15–20 minutes on the train, plus the airport transfer, and about $2.25. For Brickell, stay on Metrorail a little longer. For Miami Beach, use the Airport Express/Route 150 when it suits your hotel and schedule rather than paying for a private transfer; allow roughly 40–60 minutes in real traffic. MIA is congested, so give yourself extra departure time, especially for international flights.
• Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport: FLL can be cheaper and easier than MIA, but it is not a quick Miami airport. Take the free FLL–Tri-Rail shuttle to Fort Lauderdale Airport Station, then Tri-Rail south to Miami Airport Station and connect to Metrorail for Downtown/Brickell; budget about 75–100 minutes door to downtown and a modest rail fare. A rideshare is faster only when traffic is kind, and can become expensive. Do not choose the slow Broward-bus-to-Aventura workaround with luggage.
• Brightline MiamiCentral: This is the useful intercity arrival for Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. You arrive in Downtown, within walking distance of the Metromover and a short rideshare or rail connection from Brickell; it is the least painful rail arrival for a central hotel.
• Miami Amtrak Station / Miami Airport Station: Amtrak’s Silver Service arrives at the Miami Airport-area transfer station, not Downtown. Use Metrorail to Government Center, then the Metromover or a short rideshare; expect roughly 20–30 minutes onward before the final walk.
