The Gardens are largely flat with mostly tarmac paths, but cover a very large outdoor site; use Kew’s accessibility map for suitable routes. Manual wheelchairs are available at all gates without advance booking, subject to availability. Mobility scooters must be booked in advance and are available from Brentford, Victoria and Elizabeth Gates. The Temperate House, Alpine House and Princess of Wales Conservatory are wheelchair and mobility-scooter accessible, but the conservatory’s upper floor is not. The Palm House admits wheelchairs but not mobility scooters. Kew Palace has assisted wheelchair entry and a lift, though its narrow passages require a small wheelchair.
