Day: Weekdays, especially outside Italian public-holiday weekends.
Time: Sunrise to 9 am for steam, photographs, easier parking, and a quieter soak. · Late afternoon to sunset in summer for cooler air and attractive light; leave before darkness because the site is unlit.
Avoid: Postpone for thunderstorms or heavy rain, intense summer heat, unsafe winter changing conditions, or after dark on slippery unlit rock.
