For a first visit, sleep in the part of Ragusa you came to see: the old-town lanes around the Duomo di San Giorgio are at their best after day groups leave, and nearly all headline wandering is on the doorstep. It is a deliberately romantic rather than practical choice—expect stairs, slopes and awkward vehicle access—but it saves the nightly climb or bus ride back from Ibla to the upper town.
