Getting in

• Federico Fellini International Airport: Take Start Romagna urban bus 9 to Rimini railway station, rather than paying for a private transfer: it runs about every 20 minutes, takes roughly 30 minutes and the supplied local guidance puts a 60-minute urban ticket at about €2. The airport is only 7 km southeast of the centre. A taxi is sensible only for a late arrival, heavy bags or a beach hotel far from a stop; expect roughly 12–20 minutes and about €12–20 depending on traffic.
• Rimini railway station (Rimini FS): This is the arrival point to aim for. It is beside the bus station, about a 10–15 minute walk from the historic centre and at the north end of the beach strip. Fast trains from Milan/Bologna toward Ancona, Bari and Lecce do not all stop here; if necessary, change at Bologna for the frequent regional service via Imola, Faenza, Forlì and Cesena. There is also an hourly Ravenna–Cervia–Cesenatico–Rimini train.
• Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport: A good alternative when Rimini flights are thin: take the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale, then a train to Rimini. Allow about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes airport-to-Rimini station including the connection, and roughly €24–30 total depending on train type and booking. Do not assume every Bologna–Adriatic fast train stops at Rimini; check the specific departure.
