Getting in

• Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport: Take RER B to Gare du Nord, Châtelet–Les Halles, Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame, Luxembourg or Denfert-Rochereau: roughly 35–45 minutes to the centre, about €14, with onward Métro/RER transfer included. It is usually faster and cheaper than RoissyBus in traffic. At night, use Noctilien N140 or N143 after about 00:30.
• Paris Orly Airport: Take Métro line 14 directly into central Paris—around 25–35 minutes depending on destination, about €14, and frequent. It is the sensible default; use Orlyval to RER B only if your destination is directly on RER B. Night arrivals rely on Noctilien buses N22, N31, N131 or N144.
• Beauvais–Tillé Airport: Use the official Beauvais airport shuttle to Porte Maillot, then the Métro/RER. Allow at least 1 hour to Porte Maillot in good traffic plus the final city transfer; the evidence-package fare is about €17 online each way, so verify before booking. Beauvais is 85 km away: a low-cost flight can stop being cheap once transfer time and cost are counted.
• Gare du Nord: For Eurostar and northern-Europe/northern-France arrivals, use Métro 4 or 5, or RER B/D from the station. The station is confusing and crowded, so follow signs slowly rather than accepting help from strangers; a standard central Métro trip is roughly €2–3.
• Gare de l’Est: For eastern France and Germany, use Métro 4, 5 or 7. It is one Métro stop from Gare du Nord on line 4 or 5; central transfers cost roughly €2–3 on a standard Métro ticket.
• Gare de Lyon: For southeast France, Switzerland and Italy services, use Métro 1 or 14, or RER A/D. Line 14 is the cleanest fast link toward Châtelet and Saint-Lazare; budget roughly €2–3 for a central Métro transfer.
• Gare Montparnasse: For western and southwest France, use Métro 4, 6, 12 or 13. The station is large: allow 10–15 minutes simply to reach the correct Métro entrance. A central transfer is roughly €2–3.
• Gare d’Austerlitz: For Intercités and many night-train arrivals, use Métro 5 or 10, or RER C. It is a good base for the Latin Quarter and Left Bank; a standard central Métro transfer is roughly €2–3.
• Gare Saint-Lazare: For Normandy and western suburban trains, use Métro 3, 9, 12, 13 or 14. Line 14 is especially useful for the centre and Gare de Lyon; expect roughly €2–3 for local travel.
• Gare de Bercy: For some intercity and international coach/train services, use Métro 6 or 14. It is less central than the headline termini but line 14 makes the core straightforward; budget roughly €2–3.
